E l îngrijea de Hadasa, adică Estera, fiica unchiului său, căci ea nu avea nici tată, nici mamă. Tânăra era frumoasă la chip şi plăcută la înfăţişare. După moartea tatălui şi a mamei acesteia, Mardoheu o înfiase.
