A m ieşit noaptea pe Poarta Văii şi m-am îndreptat înspre Izvorul Balaurului şi înspre Poarta Gunoiului, uitându-mă cu atenţie la zidurile Ierusalimului, care fuseseră dărâmate, şi la porţile lui care fuseseră mistuite de foc.

And I went out by night by the valley-gate, even toward the jackal-fountain, and to the dung-gate; and I viewed the walls of Jerusalem, which were in ruins, and its gates were consumed with fire.
