E zra acesta a venit din Babilon. El era un cărturar priceput în Legea lui Moise, dată de Domnul, Dumnezeul lui Israel. Şi, pentru că mâna Domnului, Dumnezeul său, era peste el, împăratul i-a dat tot ce ceruse.

this Ezra went up from Babylon: and he was a ready scribe in the law of Moses, which Yahweh, the God of Israel, had given; and the king granted him all his request, according to Yahweh’s hand his God on him.
