R egele a poruncit marelui preot Hilchia, preoţilor de rangul al doilea şi paznicilor porţii să scoată din Templul Domnului toate obiectele care fuseseră făcute pentru Baal, pentru Aşera şi pentru toată oştirea cerurilor. Şi el le-a ars în afara Ierusalimului, în valea Chidron, iar cenuşa le-a dus-o la Betel.

And the king commanded Hilkiah the high priest and the priests of the second rank and the keepers of the threshold to bring out of the temple of the Lord all the vessels made for Baal, for Asherah, and for all the hosts of the heavens; and he burned them outside Jerusalem in the fields of the Kidron, and carried their ashes to Bethel.
