S lujitorii lui Amaţia au pus la cale un complot împotriva lui la Ierusalim. El a fugit la Lachiş, dar ei au trimis după el oameni care l-au omorât acolo.

Now they made a conspiracy against him in Jerusalem: and he fled to Lachish; but they sent after him to Lachish, and slew him there.
