Î n acea vreme, sfatul pe care îl dădea Ahitofel avea aceeaşi autoritate ca şi când cineva L-ar fi întrebat pe Dumnezeu. Aşa erau toate sfaturile pe care le dădea Ahitofel atât lui David, cât şi lui Absalom.

The advice of Ahithophel, which he gave in those days, was as if one inquired of the word of God; so was all the advice of Ahithophel regarded by both David and Absalom.
