Î n ziua a şaptea, copilul a murit. Slujitorii lui David s-au temut însă să-i spună lucrul acesta pentru că îşi ziceau: „Când copilul trăia încă, îi vorbeam, dar el nu ne asculta. Cum să îndrăznim să-i spunem că a murit copilul? Şi-ar face mai mult rău.“

And it came to pass on the seventh day that the child died. And the slaves of David feared to tell him that the child was dead, for they said, Behold, while the child was yet alive, we spoke unto him, and he would not hearken unto our voice; how much more will it trouble him if we tell him that the child is dead?
