C ând locuitorii din Canaan au văzut bocetul din Aria lui Atad, au zis: „Acesta este un mare bocet al egiptenilor.“ De aceea acel loc a fost numit Abel-Miţrayim; el se află dincolo de Iordan.

And when the inhabitants of the land, the Canaanites, saw the mourning in the floor of Atad, they said, This is a great mourning of the Egyptians; therefore the name of it was called Abelmizraim, which is beyond the Jordan.
