A dam a cunoscut-o din nou pe soţia sa. Aceasta a născut un fiu pe care l-a numit Set, zicând: „Dumnezeu mi-a dăruit un alt urmaş în locul lui Abel, întrucât el a fost omorât de Cain.“

And Adam knew his wife again; and she bare a son, and called his name Seth. For, said she, God hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel; for Cain slew him.
