A tunci Iacov le-a zis lui Simeon şi lui Levi: – M-aţi nenorocit făcându-mă urât canaaniţilor şi periziţilor, locuitorii ţării; eu am puţini oameni în subordine, iar ei se vor strânge împotriva mea şi mă vor omorî, astfel încât voi fi nimicit eu şi familia mea.

Then Jacob said to Simeon and Levi, “You have brought trouble on me by making me hated by the people of the land, the Canaanites and Perizzites. My men are few in number. And these people will gather together against me and fight me. I and those of my house will be destroyed.”
