M andarono quindi a convocare tutti i prìncipi dei Filistei e dissero: «Rimandate l’arca del Dio d’Israele; torni essa al suo posto e non faccia morire noi e il nostro popolo!» Infatti tutta la città era in preda a un terrore di morte, e la mano di Dio si faceva pesante su di essa.

So they called together all the leaders of the Philistines and said, “Send away the special box of the God of Israel. Let it return to its own place, that it may not kill us and our people.” For the people of the city were afraid. The hand of God was very heavy there.
