D avide disse in cuor suo: «Un giorno o l’altro perirò per mano di Saul; non vi è nulla di meglio per me che rifugiarmi nel paese dei Filistei. Così Saul, perduta ogni speranza, smetterà di cercarmi per tutto il territorio d’Israele e io sfuggirò alle sue mani».

David said to himself, “Some day Saul will kill me. There is nothing better for me than to run to the land of the Philistines. Then Saul will become tired of looking for me any more in the land of Israel. And I will get away from him.”
