Q uando Davide seppe che Nabal era morto, disse: «Sia benedetto il Signore, che mi ha reso giustizia dell’oltraggio fattomi da Nabal e ha preservato il suo servo dal fare del male! La malvagità di Nabal, il Signore l’ha fatta ricadere sul capo di lui!» Poi Davide mandò ad Abigail la proposta di diventare sua moglie.

And when David heard that Nabal was dead, he said, Blessed be Jehovah, who has pleaded the cause of my reproach from the hand of Nabal, and has kept back his servant from evil; but Jehovah has returned Nabal's evil upon his own head. And David sent and communed with Abigail, to take her as his wife.
