Q uando Saul aveva visto Davide che andava contro il Filisteo, aveva chiesto ad Abner, capo dell’esercito: «Abner, di chi è figlio questo ragazzo?» Abner aveva risposto: «Com’è vero che tu vivi, o re, io non lo so».

When Saul saw David going out against the Philistine, he said to Abner, the commander of the army, “Abner, whose son is this youth?” And Abner said, “As your soul lives, O king, I do not know.”
