G iosuè dunque batté tutto il paese, la contrada montuosa, la regione meridionale, la regione bassa, le pendici e tutti i loro re; non lasciò scampare nessuno, ma votò allo sterminio tutto ciò che aveva vita, come il Signore, il Dio d’Israele, aveva comandato.

So Joshua smote all the country of the hills, and of the south, and of the vale, and of the springs, and all their kings: he left none remaining, but utterly destroyed all that breathed, as the Lord God of Israel commanded.
