Q uest’uomo era stato preso dai Giudei e stava per essere ucciso da loro, quando sono intervenuto con i soldati e l’ho liberato dalle loro mani, avendo saputo che era cittadino romano.

This man was seized by the Jews, and was about to be killed by them when I came upon them with the troops and rescued him, because I learned that he is a Roman citizen.
