A llora io mi misi a pascolare le pecore destinate al macello, perciò le più misere del gregge. Mi presi due bastoni; chiamai l’uno Favore e l’altro Vincoli, e mi misi a pascolare il gregge.

So I fed the flock for slaughter, in particular the poor of the flock. I took for myself two staffs: the one I called Beauty, and the other I called Bonds; and I fed the flock.
