A himè! Io mi trovo come dopo la raccolta dei frutti, come dopo la racimolatura, quando è finita la vendemmia: non c’è più grappolo da mangiare; io desidero invano un fico primaticcio.

Misery is mine! Indeed, I am like one who gathers the summer fruits, as gleanings of the vineyard: There is no cluster of grapes to eat. My soul desires to eat the early fig.
