D egli stranieri, i più violenti fra le nazioni, lo hanno tagliato e lo hanno abbandonato; sui monti e in tutte le valli sono caduti i suoi rami, i suoi ramoscelli sono stati spezzati in tutti i burroni del paese, tutti i popoli della terra si sono ritirati dalla sua ombra e l’hanno abbandonato.

And aliens, the most terrible of the nations, have cut it down and left it; its branches have fallen on the mountains and in all the valleys; its boughs lie broken by all the rivers of the land; and all the peoples of the earth have gone from under its shadow and left it.
