I o ho detto in cuor mio: «Così è a causa dei figli degli uomini, perché Dio li metta alla prova, ed essi stessi riconoscano che non sono che bestie».

I said in my heart regarding the subject of the sons of men, God is trying (separating and sifting) them, that they may see that by themselves they are but like beasts.
