Q uella notte il re, non potendo prendere sonno, ordinò che gli si portasse il libro delle Memorie, le Cronache; e ne fu fatta la lettura in presenza del re.

On that night sleep fled from the king. And he commanded to bring the book of records of the chronicles; and they were read before the king.
