E gli lesse il libro sulla piazza che è davanti alla porta delle Acque, dalla mattina presto fino a mezzogiorno, in presenza degli uomini, delle donne e di quelli che erano in grado di capire; e tutto il popolo tendeva l’orecchio per sentire il libro della legge.

And he read therein before the street that was before the water gate from the morning until midday, before the men and the women, and those that could understand; and the ears of all the people were attentive unto the book of the law.
