Esdra 9:7 ~ Ezra 9:7

D al tempo dei nostri padri fino a oggi siamo stati grandemente colpevoli; e a causa delle nostre iniquità, noi, i nostri re e i nostri sacerdoti, siamo stati messi in mano ai re dei paesi stranieri, in balìa della spada, dell’esilio, della rapina e del disonore, come si vede anche oggi.

Since the days of our fathers to this day we have been in great guilt, and on account of our iniquities we, our kings and our priests have been given into the hand of the kings of the lands, to the sword, to captivity and to plunder and to open shame, as it is this day.
