D opo questo, Sennacherib, re d’Assiria, mentre stava di fronte a Lachis con tutte le sue forze, mandò i suoi servitori a Gerusalemme per dire a Ezechia, re di Giuda, e a tutti quelli di Giuda che si trovavano a Gerusalemme:
