I oas, re d’Israele, fece dire ad Amasia, re di Giuda: «Lo spino del Libano mandò a dire al cedro del Libano: “Da’ tua figlia in moglie a mio figlio”. Ma le bestie selvatiche del Libano passarono e calpestarono lo spino.

Jehoash king of Israel sent to Amaziah king of Judah, saying, A little thistle in Lebanon sent to a great cedar in Lebanon, saying, Give your daughter to my son as wife. And a wild beast of Lebanon passed by and trampled down the thistle.
