I fratelli di Ieria, uomini valorosi, erano duemilasettecento capi di case patriarcali. Il re Davide affidò loro la sorveglianza dei Rubeniti, dei Gaditi, della mezza tribù di Manasse, per tutte le cose concernenti Dio e per tutti gli affari del re.

And his brethren, men of valour, were two thousand and seven hundred chief fathers, whom king David made rulers over the Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh, for every matter pertaining to God, and affairs of the king.
