U no di questi andò fuori per i campi a cogliere erbe; trovò una specie di vite selvatica, ne colse i frutti, le colloquintidi, e se ne riempì la veste; e al suo ritorno, li tagliò a pezzi e li mise nella pentola dov’era la minestra; ma non si sapeva che cosa fossero.

Then one went into the field to gather herbs and gathered from a wild vine his lap full of wild gourds, and returned and cut them up into the pot of pottage, for they were unknown to them.
