I figli d’Israele avevano fatto, in segreto, contro il Signore, loro Dio, delle cose non giuste: si erano costruiti degli alti luoghi in tutte le loro città, dalle torri dei guardiani alle città fortificate;

Also the children of Israel secretly did against the Lord their God things that were not right, and they built for themselves high places in all their cities, from watchtower to fortified city.
