T utto il popolo ricominciò a piangere Abner; poi si avvicinò a Davide per fargli prendere cibo mentre era ancora giorno; ma Davide giurò dicendo: «Mi tratti Dio con tutto il suo rigore se assaggerò pane o qualche altra cosa prima che tramonti il sole!»

And all the people came to cause David to eat bread while it was yet day; but David sware, saying, God do so to me, and more also, if I taste bread, or aught else, till the sun be down.
