Q uando Abner fu tornato a Ebron, Ioab lo trasse in disparte nello spazio fra le due porte, come volendogli parlare in segreto, e lì lo colpì al ventre e lo uccise; fece questo per vendicare il sangue di suo fratello Asael.

So when Abner returned to Hebron, Joab took him aside into the middle of the gate to speak with him privately, and there he struck him in the belly so that he died on account of the blood of Asahel his brother.
