N ow, my father, see the piece of your clothing in my hand. I cut off the piece of your clothing but did not kill you. So know and understand that I have no desire to do wrong to you. I have not sinned against you, yet you come wanting to kill me.

Ora, padre mio, guarda qui nella mia mano il lembo del tuo mantello. Se ti ho tagliato il lembo del mantello e non ti ho ucciso, puoi da questo vedere chiaramente che non c’è nella mia condotta malvagità né ribellione e che io non ho peccato contro di te, mentre tu mi tendi insidie per togliermi la vita!
