W hen Saul saw David going out against the Philistine, he said to Abner the head of his army, “Abner, whose son is this young man?” And Abner said, “By your life, O king, I do not know.”

Când l-a văzut Saul pe David înaintând împotriva filisteanului, l-a întrebat pe Abner, conducătorul oştirii: – Abner, al cui fiu este acest tânăr? – Viu este sufletul tău, rege, că nu ştiu, i-a răspuns Abner.
