T he Lord said to Samuel, “How long will you be filled with sorrow because of Saul, since I have turned away from him being king over Israel? Fill your horn with oil, and go. I will send you to Jesse of Bethlehem. For I have chosen a king for Myself among his sons.”

L'Éternel dit à Samuel: Quand cesseras-tu de pleurer sur Saül? Je l'ai rejeté, afin qu'il ne règne plus sur Israël. Remplis ta corne d'huile, et va; je t'enverrai chez Isaï, Bethléhémite, car j'ai vu parmi ses fils celui que je désire pour roi.
