T he Philistines said, “Who did this?” And they were told, “Samson, the son-in-law of the Timnite, because the Timnite took his wife and gave her to his friend.” So the Philistines came and burned her and her father with fire.

Perguntaram os filisteus: Quem fez isto? Respondeu-se-lhes: Sansão, o genro do timnita, porque este lhe tomou a sua mulher, e a deu ao seu companheiro. Subiram, pois, os filisteus, e queimaram a fogo a ela e a seu pai.
