Joshua 20:9 ~ Josué 20:9

T hese were the chosen cities for all the people of Israel and for the stranger staying among them. So whoever killed any person without meaning to could run there. He could not be killed by the one who wanted to punish him, before standing trial in front of the people.

Éstas fueron las ciudades elegidas para que, en caso de una muerte accidental, se pudieran refugiar todos los hijos de Israel, y los extranjeros que vivieran entre ellos, hasta que comparecieran delante de todo el pueblo. Así no serían muertos a manos del que quisiera tomar venganza.
