S o Joshua won the war against the whole land, the hill country, the Negev, the valleys, the hill-sides, and all their kings. He left no one alive. He destroyed all who breathed, just as the Lord, the God of Israel, had told him.

Assim feriu Josué toda aquela terra, a região montanhosa, o Negebe, a baixada, e as faldas das montanhas, e a todos os seus reis. Não deixou nem sequer um; mas a tudo o que tinha fôlego destruiu totalmente, como ordenara o Senhor, o Deus de Israel:
