T hey let down the lead weight and found the water was not very deep. After they had gone a little farther, they found there was not as much water.

就 探 深 浅 ， 探 得 有 十 二 丈 ； 稍 往 前 行 ， 又 探 深 浅 ， 探 得 有 九 丈 。
