D amascus has become weak. She has turned to run away. Fear has taken hold of her. Pain and sorrows have taken hold of her like a woman giving birth.

Damasco diviene fiacca, si volta per fuggire, un tremito l’ha colta; angoscia e dolori si sono impadroniti di lei, come di donna che partorisce.
