D uring Artaxerxes’ rule, Bishlam, Mithredath, Tabeel and the rest of their friends wrote to King Artaxerxes of Persia. The letter was written in the Aramaic language.

وَفِي عَهدِ أرْتَحْشَسْتا مَلِكِ فارِسَ، كَتَبَ بِشلامُ وَمِثْرَداثُ وَطَبْئِيلُ وَبَقِيَّةُ جَماعَتِهِمْ رِسالَةً إلَى أرْتَحْشَسْتا. وَكانَتِ الوَثِيقَةُ مَكتُوبَةً بِاللُّغَةِ الأرامِيَّةِ وَمُتَرجَمَةً.
