N ow Elisha was sitting in his house. And the leaders were sitting with him. The king sent a man, but before the man came to him, Elisha said to the leaders, “Do you see how this son of a killer has sent to take off my head? See, when the king’s man comes, shut the door. Hold the door shut against him. Is not the sound of his owner’s feet behind him?”

Y Eliseo sentado en su casa, y con él estaban sentados los ancianos; y el rey envió a él un varón. Mas antes que el mensajero viniera a él, dijo él a los ancianos: ¿No habéis visto como este hijo del homicida me envía a quitarme la cabeza? Mirad, pues, y cuando viniere el mensajero, cerrad la puerta, e impedidle la entrada; ¿no viene tras él el estruendo de los pies de su amo?
