K ing Shalmaneser of Assyria came up against him. And Hoshea became his servant and paid taxes to him.

وَجاءَ شَلْمَنْأسَّرُ، مَلِكُ أشُّورَ، لِمُحارَبَةِ هُوشَعَ فَهَزَمَهُ. فَصارَ هُوشَعُ يَدفَعُ لَهُ الجِزْيَةَ.
