T hen his captain Pekah the son of Remaliah made plans against him. He killed Pekahiah in Samaria, in the house of the king with Argob and Arieh. Fifty men of the Gileadites were with Pekah. He became king in his place.

Um dos seus principais oficiais, Peca, filho de Remalias, conspirou contra ele. Levando consigo cinqüenta homens de Gileade, assassinou Pecaías e também Argobe e Arié, na cidadela do palácio real em Samaria. Assim Peca matou Pecaías e foi o seu sucessor.
