M enahem took the money from all the rich men of Israel. He took fifty pieces of silver from each man to pay the king of Assyria. So the king of Assyria returned and did not stay there in the land.

Manahem obtuvo este dinero de todos los poderosos y opulentos de Israel; cada uno debió pagar un impuesto de cincuenta siclos de plata para dar al rey de Asiria. Entonces el rey de Asiria se volvió, y no se detuvo allí en el país.
