A bsalom made Amasa captain of the army instead of Joab. Amasa was the son of a man whose name was Jithra the Israelite, who went in to Nahash’s daughter Abigal, the sister of Joab’s mother Zeruiah.

Absalom aveva messo a capo dell’esercito Amasa, al posto di Ioab. Amasa era figlio di un uomo chiamato Itra, l’Ismaelita, il quale aveva avuto relazioni con Abigail, figlia di Nacas e sorella di Seruia, madre di Ioab.
