J oseph made it a law in the land of Egypt that Pharaoh should have the fifth part. It is a law to this day. Only the land of the religious leaders did not become Pharaoh’s. Jacob’s Last Wish

And Joseph made it a law over the land of Egypt—to this day—that Pharaoh should have the fifth part; it was the priests’ land only which did not become Pharaoh’s.
