B ut the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

Aber der HERR sprach zu Samuel: Sieh nicht an seine Gestalt noch seine große Person; ich habe ihn verworfen. Denn es geht nicht, wie ein Mensch sieht: ein Mensch sieht, was vor Augen ist; der HERR aber sieht das Herz an.
