T hen Gideon said to them, “I would like to make a request of you, that each of you would give me the earrings from his plunder.” For they had golden earrings, because they were Ishmaelites.

Gideon aber sprach zu Ihnen: Eins begehre ich von euch: ein jeglicher gebe mir die Stirnbänder, die er geraubt hat. (Denn weil es Ismaeliter waren, hatten sie goldene Stirnbänder.)
