F or He had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For it had often seized him, and he was kept under guard, bound with chains and shackles; and he broke the bonds and was driven by the demon into the wilderness.

(Pues estaba conminando al espíritu inmundo a que saliera del hombre, porque se había apoderado de él muchas veces. Le ataban con cadenas y grillos, teniéndolo bajo custodia, pero rompía las ataduras y era impelido por el demonio hacia los lugares solitarios.)
