J ohn came baptizing in the wilderness and preaching a baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.

جاءَ يُوحَنّا المَعْمَدانُ يُعَمِّدُ فِي البَرِّيَّةِ، وَيُطالِبُ النّاسَ بِأنْ يَتَعَمَّدُوا كَدَلِيلٍ عَلَى تَوبَتِهِمْ لِغُفرانِ الخَطايا.
