‘ The Lord is longsuffering and abundant in mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression; but He by no means clears the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generation. ’

L'Éternel est lent à la colère et riche en bonté, il pardonne l'iniquité et la rébellion; mais il ne tient point le coupable pour innocent, et il punit l'iniquité des pères sur les enfants jusqu'à la troisième et la quatrième génération.
